No Kings Day

I got an email message a few days ago from a friend who lives in our town saying that there would be a protest in Charleston at noon today, so Michael and I made some appropriate signs, bundled up, and made our way to the courthouse square (the county seat of Coles County, Illinois).

As our grandchildren would say, "Guess what?"

Nobody was there. Nobody there to protest, and only a small number of cars were parked on the square. It is a holiday, after all, right?

So I offer you photographs of our two signs, which you are welcome to enjoy and share with people in places where people are not sleeping while the world's oldest democracy gets shattered by forces that seem to be beyond our control.

Good for you. “Do it anyway.”
