Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

Price Adoration played by the Scottish Freelancers Ensemble
Thank you for writing such a beautiful arrangement of Florence Price's "Adoration." My orchestra students are learning it now for a concert at the end of February. It is so calming, which is just what we need these days. I can actually hear them breathe a sigh at the end.
I get the same feeling when I hear people play it! I just saw this comment, so I’m sorry that it has taken so long to reply. Incidentally, I had it running through my head and my dreams last night. Florence Price REALLY latched on to something with this piece. Making this arrangement was SUCH a pleasure for me. I am looking forward to playing it myself in June and July of 2021 (I made it for a summer string orchestra that could not meet because of the pandemic).
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.
