"Music of Strange Quality"
And music criticism of unusual quality. Read the New York Times review of the first New York performance of Pelleas and Melisande back in 1908.

Wow! Music critics could really stretch out in those days, and I couldn't help admiring whoever set that long piece in type, at a hot-lead linotype machine, after midnight (when the reviewer would have filed his copy.)
For comparative purposes, this morning's SF Chronicle had a front page article about trends in the names people give their pets. Oy.
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.
