Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

Bees/Treehopper: Two Brand New Clawhammer Tunes
[if you are looking at this in a reader, you should go here to listen].
Most of us know what bees are, but the treehopper is a crazy-looking insect group.
Terrific! Ben's banjoing always lifts my mood. There was a Peanuts cartoon long ago saying something like everyone should be issued a banjo at birth - and this reminds me of how Schultz must have gotten the idea.
I love how Ben's playing always seems to imply so much more than what's actually heard.
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.

Thanks for posting.
Wow -- I guess I shouldn't be surprised he's so talented. Really enjoyable tunes and playing!
