Michael mentioned the ever-popular Sextet from Lucia that was being streamed over the telephone in 1910.
In this version of the piece (which I take quite personally, given the text) we get to see, once again, that Larry Fine (sadly no relation to the Philadelphia Fines) is indeed a real violinist:
