Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

A story about music you may not have read
This brilliant short story by Julio Ramón Ribeyro may be fiction, but it rings true. So I'm sharing a link to it here.
Thank you for the link. I've followed your blog for many years and have even attempted to learn one of your pieces for solo guitar. (Perhaps there is only one.) But my lessons haven't brought me to quite that level yet.
Here's a link to a fine short story about the great Johann Sebastian:
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.

Elaine,
Perhaps this will inspire another guitar piece?
I am actually working on a duo piece that can be played on guitar!
Guitar duo or guitar and another instrument?
Both and either!
Wonderful! Please let me know when you're finished. I look forward to it.
