Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

Three editor's copies of this new viola transcription of the Rachmaninoff Sonata in G minor that I made for International Music greeted me in today's mail!

Congratulations. A long-time friend of mine commented humorously that "one works a lifetime to become a over-night success." Best wishes.
It was a mixture of good timing and circumstance that connected me with International. I don't know about the "success" thing, but I'm happy that this transcription will be getting good distribution. The piece is really enjoyable to play on the viola, and I love the fact that other violists can easily join in the fun.
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.
