I'm very excited to let you know that Leonard Lehrman and Helene Williams will be performing some scenes from my 2008 opera EMMA as part of a seminar about Jewish Opera. The seminar series, which begins next week, will be held at the Community Church, 40 East 35th Street, in New York City.

Yasher koach! Congratulations from one too far away to attend. Enjoy the outing and applause. One small note: odd that this set of concerts had to find a church to host it, rather than one of the many NYC synagogues in Manhattan.
Congratulations, Elaine! And how thrilling, too, that the scenes will be performed in the presence of--and presumably with comments from--eminent lefty historian Howard Zinn (whom I didn't know was still alive). Wish I could be there, and I hope you can.
Howard is unfortunately no longer alive. I really enjoyed having the chance to work with him.
