Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

Thanks so much for the Tanglewood Tales video; we attended the String Quartet Marathon concert there and heard the first eight quartets play. So good, all of them. It just illustrates, I think, how high the level of teaching / playing is in the conservatories these days (CIM, Rice, New England Conservatory, etc.), not just Curtis and Juilliard. And this video answers quite a few of those nosey questions about the fellows without my actually being nosey. Thanks, again. Such a treat. - Rob in Washington DC
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.
