The angles at which the two photos were taken make it impossible for a layperson like me to even begin to compare the two instruments. The Times had a helpful - not - photo essay on how to identify a Strad, but obviously it would a violin expert (luthier, dealer, Frank Almond) to answer your question. I would love to know, myself!
