Music is a mystery for people who play it, write it, listen to it, and write about it. The only thing I can really do when I try to say something about music is assume.

Atonal Composition with Pablo Casals
I thought I'd share this 1962 drawing by Lorenzo Homar of Pablo Casals surrounded by JFK, Franco, and Dean Rusk, that I found tucked among several pieces of his over at BibliOdyssey.
The Princeton notes definitely said "Spanish Head of State" (which, incidentally, a quick search suggested was Franco himself at the time, of course) in addition to naming Franco as one of the other characters in the scene.
It would make most sense for mine with the discord of 2 Spanish and 2 American diplomat/politicians flanking the in-tune Casals, but I'm not prepared to bet on it!
I am active as a composer, a violist, a violinist, a recorder player, and as a teacher. I have been keeping this space in the blogosphere alive with assumptions about music (and assorted other things) since 2005.

Could that be de Gaulle with JFK? The other two do look like Rusk and Franco.
It does look like de Gaulle!
