It was about the only thing going it seemed. There is a young woman composer, out here in LA, named <A HREF="http://laurakarpman.com" REL="nofollow">Laura Karpman</A>, who did her graduate work with Milton Babbitt. I have heard serial music, she has written, that swings like jazz! But I think for most composers, serialism can be the source of some very poor listening.
