The title of this song translates as "Hop Crop," so I imagine it has something to do with making beer; but boy, do these singers (who I just discovered today) make music!

Koslovsky was a great singer - he's on a number of Russian-language complete opera recordings made in the mid-20th c. I have him in some excellent excerpts from Lohengrin, of all things.
